Business activity index in Kazakhstan decreased to 50.6 points in OctThe Business Activity Index (BAI) in Kazakhstan decreased to 50.6 points in October 2025 from 50.9 in September; the indicator has been in the positive zone since March 2024, the press service of the National Bank of the Republic reported."Activity was maintained in production, services and trade, where the index remained in the growth zone, amounting to 53.0, 50.6 and 50.2, respectively (in September - 52.9, 50.8 and 50.7)," Rustem Orazalin, Director of the Monetary Policy Department at the National Bank is quoted as saying in a press release circulated on Tuesday.In construction and mining, the indicators remained in negative zone, with a slight deterioration observed in mining from 49.4 in September to 48.5 in October, while the indicator in construction remained almost unchanged at 49.5.The Business Climate Index, which is an average of the current and future business conditions, decreased to 7.1 in October 2025 (from 10.1 in september), due to a deterioration in the assessment of future business conditions. However, overall indicators are assessed positively, and accordingly, the business cycle "clock" indicator remains in the growth area.According to enterprises’ estimates, demand for their products/services remained unchanged, while a noticeable slowdown was noted in the mining industry.
