Kazakhstan extends ban on export of feeder cattleKazakhstan has extended a temporary ban on the export of feeder cattle, according to the country’s Ministry of Agriculture.The extension was approved during an Oct. 8, 2025, meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Foreign Trade. The measure will remain in effect for six months and includes a provision for automatic renewal without further commission review if deemed necessary."The measure is intended to bolster domestic food security and ensure domestic meat processing plants operate at full capacity," the ministry stated.The new order took effect on Nov. 5, 2025, and is set to last through April 30, 2026. Kazakhstan first imposed the temporary export restriction on May 15, 2025, for an initial period of three months. It was subsequently extended in August 2025 until Oct. 30, 2025, prior to this latest six-month extension. (ICE ALMATY)
