U.S. invests $150 mln to establish Central Asian medical hub in KazakhstanKazakhstan plans to establish the first Western-branded multi-specialty medical center, which is expected to become the healthcare hub of Central Asia.An agreement to implement the project was reached during Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s visit to the United States between Sovereign Wealth Fund Samruk-Kazyna and U.S. investment company Ashmore Group, acting through its subsidiary Ashmore Healthcare International, Samruk-Kazyna said in a Friday press release.Total investment in the project is estimated at about $150 million.“The hospital in Kazakhstan will operate in partnership with one of Ashmore’s global clinical affiliates, which will make it possible to apply advanced medical technologies and the latest scientific developments in the region’s healthcare sector,” Samruk-Kazyna said.
