HCM CITY EYES WORLD-CLASS MARINE TOURISM HUB

HCM City’s merger with Bình Dương and Bà Rịa–Vũng Tàu provinces has created a unified coastal development zone, unlocking new potential for marine and eco-tourism and positioning the region as a green, smart, world-class destination. The expanded city now enjoys nearly 100 km of coastline from Cần Giờ to Côn Đảo, including popular beaches such as Vũng Tàu, Long Hải, and Hồ Tràm, as well as major nature reserves ideal for eco-tourism. The area attracts over 16 million visitors annually and offers more than 28,500 accommodation rooms, including 12 five-star resorts. Authorities are accelerating key infrastructure projects like the Biên Hòa–Vũng Tàu Expressway, Phước An Bridge, and Ring Road 4, while the upcoming Long Thành International Airport will enhance accessibility. With a population of 13.6 million and a GRDP of VNĐ3 quadrillion (US$120 billion), the new HCM City is the country’s largest tourism market. Tourism leaders expect a surge in investment and international arrivals, supported by luxury developments such as The Grand Hồ Tràm and Six Senses Côn Đảo. Named Asia’s Leading Beach Destination 2025, Vũng Tàu is undergoing major upgrades, reinforcing the city’s ambition to become Southeast Asia’s premier marine tourism hub driven by sustainability, innovation, and cultural identity. — VNS (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
