METLEN has secured €65 million in financing to build two large-scale photovoltaic parks in Italy — Porto Torres and Casale Monferrato — with a combined capacity of 60 MW. The projects, located in Sardegna and Piemonte, are key to METLEN’s expansion strategy in the Italian market and are expected to be completed by the end of 2025. Both solar parks will benefit from a 20-year state-backed incentive tariff granted by GSE (Gestore dei Servizi Energetici). Together, they are projected to generate around 110 GWh of clean energy annually, supplying power to over 50,000 households and avoiding approximately 26,000 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The financing for these projects was concluded trough a club deal structure with UniCredit, Intesa Sanpaolo - IMI CIB Division and Alpha Bank. The package also includes accordion facilities, allowing for potential expansion for two additional solar projects and one battery energy storage system (BESS), a strategic addition designed to enhance grid stability and optimize revenues.
