AQABA AUTHORITY CHIEF, EU AMBASSADOR DISCUSS STRENGTHENING BILATERAL COOPERATION

The Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA), Shadi Majali, met on Monday with the European Union Ambassador to Jordan, Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral cooperation — particularly in supporting entrepreneurship and promoting sustainable economic growth. According to an ASEZA statement, the meeting — which was also attended by Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs Thabet Nabulsi and Commissioner for Economic Affairs and Investment Mohammad Abu Omar — explored prospects for increasing European investments in Aqaba and advancing development cooperation initiatives in southern Jordan. Ambassador Chatzisavas also met with a group of local entrepreneurs participating in the “Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development and Employment” (E4DE) project, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) with joint funding from the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
