HÀ NỘI DRAWS OVER $3.9 BILLION IN FDI IN FIRST TEN MONTHS

HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội attracted US$3.91 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in the first ten months of 2025, marking a 2.4-fold increase compared to the same period last year, according to the city’s Statistics Office. From January to October, the capital licensed 342 new FDI projects worth $316.7 million and allowed 120 existing projects to raise their capital by $3.21 billion. A major boost came from Malaysia’s Gamuda Land Vietnam Co., Ltd., which added $1.12 billion to its Yên Sở Park project. Foreign investors also made 318 capital contributions and share purchases valued at $375.3 million. In October alone, Hà Nội attracted $14.9 million in FDI and saw strong domestic business activity. The city recorded 2,814 newly established enterprises, up 17.1% year on year, with total registered capital of $49.3 trillion (US$1.87 billion), a 32.1% increase. During the ten months, 27,800 new firms were registered with a combined capital of 337.9 trillion đồng, while 8,800 resumed operations. However, 25,500 businesses temporarily suspended activities and 6,300 were dissolved, indicating ongoing challenges. Hà Nội maintained a 100% online business registration rate, streamlining administrative procedures and supporting the city’s dynamic investment environment. — VNS (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
