UKRAINE STRENGTHENS EXTERNAL POSITION: RESERVES UP TO USD 46.5B
Ukraine’s international reserves rose to USD 46.5 billion as of 1 October 2025, up 1.1% in September, according to preliminary data from the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).The growth was driven by inflows from international partners and a decline in net FX sales by the NBU. In September, the government received USD 2.9B in foreign currency, including USD 1.4B from the World Bank and USD 1.2B from the EU under the G7’s ERA initiative.Ukraine spent USD 563.6M on public debt servicing and USD 254.4M on IMF repayments. The NBU made net FX sales of USD 2.29B, down 15% from August.Additionally, the revaluation of financial instruments added USD 690.6M to reserves.
