INDONESIA EXPORTS 206,700 TONS OF COFFEE IN FIRST HALF OF 2025

In the first half of 2025, Indonesia exported 206.7 thousand tons of coffee to global markets including the U.S., EU, Middle East, and Southeast Asia, showcasing the rising competitiveness of its MSMEs. The Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises highlighted that over 90 percent of the country’s coffee plantations are managed by smallholders. A notable shipment of 15 tons of Argopuro Walida specialty coffee to Jeddah, valued at Rp3 billion, stemmed from a partnership between the Argopuro Walida Community and 568 farmers in East Java, with plans to expand to 1,500. To further harness Indonesia’s coffee potential, the ministry launched the Plantation MSME Holding program, aiming to strengthen the supply chain by integrating MSMEs with larger companies. This initiative positions medium enterprises as key drivers—acting as aggregators, incubators, marketers, and funders—to boost productivity, innovation, and sustainability. With support from government and private sectors, the program seeks to build a resilient partnership ecosystem. The Argopuro Community expressed its commitment to actively participate and help connect farmers to broader markets.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/384817/indonesia-exports-206700-tons-of-coffee-in-first-half-of-2025  (ICE GIACARTA)
