The National Oil Corporation (NOC) held a technical workshop on Thursday at its Tripoli headquarters to present the results of a project to restart several oil wells that had been closed for years. The initiative was carried out in cooperation with the Arabian Gulf Oil Company and global services firm Schlumberger.The workshop featured detailed presentations on the project’s stages — from preliminary studies and technical assessments to engineering treatments that brought the wells back into operation at encouraging production levels. The results, the NOC said, were achieved through modern techniques that improved efficiency and productivity.According to the NOC, the project forms part of its strategy to boost national production by investing in existing assets and enhancing the performance of low-output or inactive wells through advanced, internationally recognised technical solutions.The corporation said a joint technical committee of engineers and experts from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company and Schlumberger began work several months ago to assess the wells’ conditions and determine optimal reactivation methods.The event was attended by senior NOC technical managers, engineers and officials from the participating companies, along with representatives from other departments in the oil sector.
