IRAQ APPROVES 3 NEW INDUSTRIAL CITIES
The Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals, chaired by Minister Prof. Eng. Khaled Battal Al-Najm, has approved the awarding of key industrial city projects during the second session of the Industrial Cities Authority's Board of Directors.Among the approved projects are:The establishment of Iraq's first pharmaceutical industrial city in Babylon, covering 708 dunams.The creation of Babylon Gateway Industrial City, spanning 2,000 dunams, focused on food, light, and medium industries.The development of Akkad Industrial City in Rashidiya, Baghdad, on 125 dunams, which will be Iraq's first privately owned industrial city targeting emerging industries.The decisions followed detailed presentations and discussions on project costs, land allocations, targeted industries, financing, and utility provisions. Minister Al-Najm welcomed private sector participation in these projects, highlighting their role in job creation and supporting Iraq's industrial growth. (ICE AMMAN)
