Kazakhstan sets 2025 oil supply to Germany at 1.7 million tonnes, plans to maintain volume in 2026Kazakhstan expects to supply Germany with 1.7 million tonnes of oil via the Druzhba pipeline in 2025 and plans to ship at least the same volume in 2026, the national oil and gas company KazMunayGas said Thursday.KazMunayGas head Askat Khasenov announced the plans on the sidelines of the 16th Eurasian KAZENERGY Forum in Astana, saying that supply volumes on this route are already increasing, and the technical procedures have been formally agreed upon."This route is operational and economically sound for us. We plan to continue the cooperation and, yes, we will be increasing volumes," Khasenov said."We are in negotiations for next year. The volume will be no less than this year's; it always increases," Khassenov stated. "For Germany, we supplied 1.5 million tonnes last year and plan for no less than 1.7 million tonnes this year. Next year's volume will be officially announced, but it will be no less," he said.According to prior reports from KazTransOil, Kazakhstan's oil pipeline operator, exports to Germany rose nearly 20% in August alone, reaching 190,000 tonnes. Agency calculations show that from January through August 2025, Kazakhstan exported a total of 1.277 million tonnes of oil to Germany.Initially, KazMunayGas stated that Kazakhstan planned to ship 1.5 million tonnes to Germany via the Druzhba pipeline in 2025, matching the export volume for 2024. However, the company later indicated in its materials that it planned to increase 2025 supplies to Germany to 2 million tonnes. The potential for such an increase was previously noted by the then-Minister of Energy, Almasadam Satkaliyev, who stated that shipment volumes could be raised to 2 million tonnes if requested by Germany.Kazakhstan has been supplying Germany with oil since 2023, using the Transneft pipeline system to the Adamova Zastava delivery point.
