The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has launched the Kawlokan Corniche Project, a key component of the Soran District Tourism Master Plan, aiming to establish the area as a major visitor destination.The first phase will develop five ponds along a 4-kilometre river stretch, with landscaped green spaces, cafés, and restaurants. The project's water storage infrastructure will support tourism, bolster agriculture, replenish groundwater, and promote fisheries.By integrating environmental sustainability with modern tourism amenities, the initiative is expected to enhance the Region's attractiveness, stimulate economic growth, and generate long-term opportunities for local communities, already creating significant employment.
