Kazakhstan and Belgium see potential to expand economic ties at the UN meetingPresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan met with Belgian Prime Minister Bart De Wever on the sidelines of the 80th UN General Assembly on Tuesday."Kazakhstan places high importance on developing long-term cooperation with Belgium, a key partner within the European Union," Tokayev said. He noted that Brussels is among the top ten investors in the Kazakh economy, with bilateral trade approaching half a billion dollars last year.According to the Kazakh president's press service, "the discussion highlighted opportunities for expanding trade and investment, particularly in critical minerals, petrochemicals, agriculture, industry, transport, logistics, artificial intelligence, finance, tourism, and education.Prime Minister De Wever thanked Tokayev for the opportunity to discuss the bilateral agenda and conveyed the best wishes of King Philippe of Belgium.
