TANZANIA OFFERS FREE LAND TO ATTRACT INDUSTRIAL INVESTORS DODODMA
The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (Tizesa) has set aside 607 hectares of land in Nala, Dodoma, to attract industrial investors by offering free factory plots and removing bureaucratic hurdles related to land acquisition. According to Tizesa Central Zone Manager, Venance Mashiba, the initiative will enable investors to channel funds directly into their operations rather than land costs. To qualify, local investors must have a minimum capital of $5 million, while foreign investors need at least $10 million, and all investors are required to create at least 100 permanent jobs for Tanzanians. Since the investment drive was launched on August 13, 2025, four investors have shown interest, including one currently building a cooking oil factory. The area is already equipped with key infrastructure such as tarmac roads, water, and electricity to support industries like agro-processing, mineral refining, electric vehicle assembly, and household goods production.Tizesa’s Public Relations Manager, Pendo Gondwe, revealed that the Nala site is part of a national strategy to establish 100 major factories across Tanzania by 2030, positioning the country as a leading industrial hub in Africa. Investors partnering with Tanzanians will receive priority benefits, including free land, tax incentives on machinery, and reduced import duties on raw materials. Karibu Naturals Limited, one of the early investors, has already created 120 direct jobs through its upcoming cooking oil factory, which will rely on locally sourced raw materials to boost farmer incomes.
