E-COMMERCE BOUNCED BACK
The latest reading of Base Index, which measures the condition of the Polish e-commerce industry based on sales data from 3,000 online stores, indicates that sales in August were 1.2 percent higher than in July. The number of orders increased by 3.6 percent. The average order value fell by 2.2 percent to PLN 200. "This result indicates a continuation of the trend seen since the beginning of the year, a gradual, several-percentage-point increase in sales value from month to month, which illustrates the stable market situation and consistency in the minimal increase in consumption. There is a correlation here with the decline in inflation, which stood at 3.1 percent in July and 2.8 percent in August, compared to 5.3 percent at the beginning of 2025," says Tomasz Gutkowski, sales and business development director at Univio, a company providing IT services for e-commerce.
