INDONESIA'S DANANTARA PREPARES 33 STRATEGIC PROJECTS, WASTE-TO-ENERGY AS KEY

Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund, BPI Danantara, is preparing to launch 33 strategic projects, including a major waste-to-energy (WtE) initiative aimed at converting urban waste into renewable energy. CEO of Danantara, Rosan P. Roeslani, confirmed that the WtE regulatory framework has been finalized and tenders will soon begin in cities such as Jakarta, Bandung, Bali, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar. Danantara is committed to an open and transparent tender process and is exploring international cooperation, notably with China’s Jiaxing Jiayuan SUS Environment, a global leader in WtE technology. The collaboration aims to support Indonesia’s green energy goals and leverage advanced combustion technologies for sustainable waste management. In parallel, Rosan met with Indonesia's Finance Minister, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, to discuss financing strategies for the 33 projects, including potential bond issuance. The government has prioritized five initial projects based on their readiness and socio-economic impact, emphasizing the importance of regional sustainability and transparent stakeholder communication. The joint effort between Danantara and the Finance Ministry reflects a coordinated investment strategy designed to stimulate economic growth and deliver measurable public benefits. These initiatives are expected to enhance infrastructure, promote innovation, and reinforce Indonesia’s commitment to sustainable development.Source: https://indonesiabusinesspost.com/5160/corporate-affairs/danantara-prepares-33-strategic-projects-waste-to-energy-as-key (ICE GIACARTA)
