The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources announced that no Iraqi oil has been imported since June 26, 2025, following the expiration of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the two countries last year. According to ministry sources, Jordan is currently awaiting approval from the Iraqi side to extend the MoU—first signed in 2019—for an additional year, noting that follow-up with Baghdad is ongoing, Al-Ghad reported.
