Kazakhstan aims to keep inflation below 11% through year-end – PMKazakhstan’s government expects to contain inflation at no more than 11% through the end of 2025, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov said Tuesday.“As is known, price instability affects inflation. We see opportunities to keep it at a level not exceeding 11% by the end of the year,” Bektenov said at a government meeting. He reminded the Ministry of National Economy, together with the National Bank, regional administrations and the ministries of agriculture, trade, industry and energy, as well as the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition, of the need to implement the government’s anti-inflation plan.In his annual address on Monday, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said inflation had become especially acute, and instructed the government and the National Bank to work “as one team” to tackle the issue. In June, the National Bank of Kazakhstan raised its inflation forecast for the second time this year: to 10.5–12.5% in 2025 and to 9.5–11.5% in 2026.
