INDONESIA’S TRADE BALANCE RECORDS USD 4.17 BILLION SURPLUS IN JULY 2025

Indonesia recorded a trade surplus of USD 4.17 billion in July 2025, slightly up from June’s USD 4.11 billion, marking 63 consecutive months of surplus since May 2020. The July surplus was driven by a strong non-oil and gas performance, contributing USD 5.75 billion, with key exports including animal or vegetable fats and oils, mineral fuels, and iron and steel. Exports rose 9.86% year-on-year to USD 24.75 billion, while imports fell 5.96% to USD 20.57 billion. However, the oil and gas sector continued to weigh down the overall balance, posting a USD 1.58 billion deficit due to high imports of crude oil and refined products. From January to July 2025, Indonesia’s cumulative trade surplus reached USD 23.65 billion. This was largely supported by a robust non-oil and gas surplus of USD 34.06 billion, which offset the oil and gas sector’s deficit of USD 10.41 billion. The data reflects Indonesia’s continued resilience in external trade, particularly in non-oil and gas commodities, despite persistent challenges in energy imports.Source: https://business-indonesia.org/news/indonesia-s-trade-balance-records-usd-4-17-billion-surplus-in-july-2025  (ICE GIACARTA)
