INDONESIA TARGETS 5.2% GROWTH IN 2025, PREPARES IDR 694T BUDGET PUSH
Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, outlined key strategies to achieve the national economic growth target of 5 to 5.2 percent starting in the second half of 2025. Investment remains the primary growth driver, with IDR924 trillion realized in the first half and a 32.5% year-on-year increase in capital goods imports. Government and SOE capital expenditures, which reached 17.94% in the first half, are expected to boost productivity into 2026. To sustain momentum, the government will continue its fiscal stimulus policy, replicating the Rp61 trillion package from the first half, and accelerate budget realization—targeting 25% of the 2025 State Budget (IDR694 trillion)—especially within high-budget ministries and agencies. Hartarto emphasized that household consumption remains central to Indonesia’s economic resilience. To support purchasing power, the government is preparing targeted programs, including the rollout of Labor-Intensive Investment Credit to modernize production machinery. In the tourism sector, stimulus measures will include national events, bundled holiday packages for Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026, and public transport discounts across trains, ferries, and toll roads. These combined efforts aim to reinforce domestic demand and ensure broad-based economic recovery.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/377185/indonesia-targets-52-pct-growth-in-2025-prepares-rp694t-budget-push (ICE GIACARTA)
