REVAMP OF INDONESIA'S LOCAL CONTENT RULES RILES BUSINESSES
The Industry Ministry’s plan to revise local content requirement (TKDN) rules have drawn criticism from domestic business associations. The revamp would expand the definition of local value and broadens sectoral coverage. The new policy would also penalise firms that outsource production by slashing their scores on key local content metrics like labour and overhead costs. Industry players warn the move will raise compliance costs and disrupt supply chains dependent on imported components, while officials insist the changes are necessary to boost competitiveness of domestic manufacturing.Source: https://asianews.network/revamp-of-indonesias-local-content-rules-riles-businesses/ (ICE GIACARTA)
