Annual inflation in Kazakhstan rose to 12.2% in Aug, slightly over analysts' forecastsMonthly inflation in Kazakhstan in August 2025 was 1%, accelerating from 0.7% in July, according to the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms.Year-on-year inflation in August reached 12.2%, which is 0.4% higher than in July.Analysts surveyed by Interfax-Kazakhstan had predicted that the republic's year-on-year inflation at the end of July would be in the range of 11.8% to 12.1%.Specifically, Daniyar Orazbayev, an analyst at Freedom Finance Global, expected annual inflation to be 11.8%. Arman Beisembayev, an expert at the international brokerage group Tickmill, spoke of 12% following the July pause, while the Association of Financiers of Kazakhstan (AFK) gave a maximum forecast of 12.1%.Over the year, by August, prices for paid services increased by 15.3% (in July 2025 - 14.9%), food products by 11.7% (in July 2025 - 11.2%), and non-food products by 9.5% (in July 2025 - 9.5%).Compared to August of last year, tariffs for cold water increased by 95.4%, sewerage by 34.7%, central heating by 19.2%, gas transported through distribution networks by 28.4%, hot water by 17.2%, electricity by 16.3%, and housing maintenance fees by 11.7%.Price increases were noted for fruits and vegetables by 13.5%, for oils and fats by 20.5%, for non-alcoholic beverages by 13.3%, and for meat and meat products by 16.2%.On a regional basis, in August 2025, the inflation rate exceeded the national average in 10 regions.
