JORDAN SIGNS 5 NEW MINING AGREEMENTS WITHIN 7 MONTHS
Jordanian Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Kharabsheh, announced that Jordan will sign five executive agreements before the end of the first quarter of next year, related to Risha phosphate, copper, and gold ores in Wadi Araba.In his speech at the mining sector session, part of the sectoral working sessions to prepare the second executive program for the Economic Modernization Vision 2026-2029, held on Monday [01/09], Kharabsheh revealed the ministry's intention to include 15 new projects during the second phase of the vision related to phosphate, potash, and bromine ores. These projects will also include a review of the Natural Resources Law, the interactive map of mineral resources, the development of a single window system, and the development of incentives and a competitive and stable financial system. He also noted the ongoing implementation of projects related to lithium, earth elements, copper, gold, basalt, and silica.He noted that the project completion rate in the first phase reached 41%, with 7 out of 17 projects completed, in addition to 10 other projects under implementation.
