The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) plans to build household gas pipeline networks across 15 districts and cities during 2025–2026, as part of Indonesia’s push for energy diversification and increased use of clean natural gas. To ensure smooth implementation, the Directorate of Oil and Gas Infrastructure convened a socialization forum with pipe and metering suppliers to discuss material readiness and supply chain coordination. Director of Planning and Development of Oil and Gas Infrastructure, Laode Sulaeman, emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to optimizing domestic natural gas production for community welfare and reducing reliance on other energy sources. Key technical requirements were outlined during the forum, including minimum local content (TKDN) thresholds—40% for carbon steel and galvanized pipes, and 20% for PE pipes. Materials must meet strict safety standards and specification compliance. Officials also stressed the importance of early coordination on raw material sourcing, production capacity, and delivery timelines.
