CROATIA: EXPORTS UP 6.3% IN FIRST HALF OF 2025, TRADE DEFICIT REACHES EUR 9.7 Billion
According to the State Bureau of Statistics (DZS) data released on Friday, 8 August, Croatia’s goods exports in the first half of 2025 rose by 6.3% to EUR 12.3 billion, while imports increased by 2% to almost EUR 22 billion, resulting in a foreign trade deficit of EUR 9.7 billion, with exports covering 55.9% of imports.The DZS data showed that the value of Croatian goods exports reached EUR 12.3 billion in the first six months of this year, which is 6.3% more than in the same period last year, while imports increased by 2%, to almost EUR 22 billion.At the same time, the foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 9.7 billion, while the coverage of imports by exports was 55.9%. The DZS data also showed that exports to the member states of the European Union (EU) in the first six months of this year amounted to EUR 8.2 billion, which is 7.2% more compared to the same period last year, while exports to non-member states of the EU increased by 4.5%, to EUR 4.1 billion.Imports from the member states of the EU fell in the first six months of this year by 1.4% on an annual level, to EUR 16.9 billion, while imports from non-member states amounted to slightly more than EUR 5 billion, which is an increase of 15.7%. The DZS also published provisional data on trade in goods for the first five months of this year which showed total exports amounted to EUR 10.2 billion, which is 5.7% more than in the same period last year, while imports increased by 1.7%, to EUR 18.4 billion. The foreign trade deficit amounted to EUR 8.1 billion, and the coverage of imports by exports from January to May of this year was 55.7%. (ICE ZAGABRIA)
