U.S. Department of Energy raises Kazakhstan’s liquid fuels production forecast for 2025-2026The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), part of the U.S. Department of Energy, has revised its monthly forecast upward for Kazakhstan’s liquid fuels production in 2025 and 2026.According to the August report, Kazakhstan is expected to produce 2.21 million barrels per day (bpd) of liquid fuels in 2025, up from the July forecast of 2.20 million bpd.According to the EIA, Kazakhstan produced 2.16 million bpd in the 1st quarter of 2025 and 2.18 million bpd in the 2nd quarter.In its August report, the EIA estimates that oil production in the 3rd quarter of 2025 will reach 2.23 million bpd compared with the July outlook of 2.21 million bpd and in the 4th quarter of this year oil production will amount to 2.26 million bpd vs. 2.25 million bpd in the July report.In 2026, Kazakhstan’s liquid fuels production is expected to average 2.22 million bpd, up from the July estimate of 2.20 million bpd. Quarterly breakdowns for 2026 include: 2.26 million bpd in Q1 (previously 2.24 million bpd), 2.21 million bpd in Q2 (vs. 2.20 million bpd), 2.16 million bpd in Q3 (vs. 2.15 million bpd), and 2.25 million bpd in Q4 (vs. 2.23 million bpd).The EIA reported that Kazakhstan’s liquid fuels production in 2024 averaged 1.9 million bpd, with quarterly figures as follows: 2 million bpd in Q1, 1.9 million bpd in Q2, 1.9 million bpd in Q3, and 1.82 million bpd in Q4.In 2023, the country’s liquid fuels output stood at 1.96 million bpd.
