Kazakh car manufacturing up 16.7% in first seven monthsKazakhstan manufactured 83,259 motor vehicles in January-July 2025, a 16.7% increase compared to the same period last year, the Kazakhstan Auto Union reported Wednesday. The total value of production for the period reached 1.16 trillion tenge."The growth strengthens the domestic auto industry and creates new opportunities for enterprises," according to the union's president, Anar Makasheva. "Two new production plants are scheduled to launch, which will create over five thousand jobs and provide additional momentum to related industries," Makasheva stated in the press release.By production location, the Allur plant in Kostanay produced 45,756 units, a 6.9% year-on-year increase. Plants in Almaty (Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan, Hyundai Trans Almaty) manufactured 31,245 passenger and commercial vehicles, surging 41.8%. Production in Semey (SemAZ, Daewoo Bus Kazakhstan) fell 17.5% to 2,413 commercial units. Output in the Karaganda region (QazTehna) rose 28.1% to 976 units, while the Kokshetau plant (KAMAZ-Engineering) produced 739 commercial vehicles, up 34.6%. Other producers manufactured 2,130 units.The top five manufactured brands for the period were Hyundai (30,850 units), Chevrolet (16,598 units), Kia (14,856 units), Jetour (7,116 units), and JAC (5,641 units).
