FIVE ITALIAN FILMS IN COMPETITION AT VENICE FILM FEST, ROBERTS TO DEBUT

The 82nd Venice Film Festival (Aug. 27–Sept. 6) opens with Paolo Sorrentino’s La Grazia, competing for the Golden Lion alongside Leonardo di Costanzo’s Elisa, Pietro Marcello’s Duse, Franco Maresco’s A Film Made for Bene, and Gianfranco Rosi’s Sotto le nuvole. A total of 21 films vie for the top prize.International auteurs include Kathryn Bigelow (A House of Dynamite), Guillermo del Toro (Frankenstein), Yorgos Lanthimos (Bugonia), Jim Jarmusch (Father Mother Sister Brother), Park Chan-wook (No Other Choice), and François Ozon (The Stranger).Stars flock to Venice, with Julia Roberts leading Luca Guadagnino’s After the Hunt, joined by Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edelbiri. Other anticipated arrivals include George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, Emma Stone, Jude Law, Oscar Isaac, Amanda Seyfried, Al Pacino, Idris Elba, Dwayne Johnson, and many more.Venice 2025 promises a dazzling mix of award contenders, star-studded premieres, and cinematic diversity, cementing its role as a premier showcase of international cinema.
