GARDENS BY THE BAY EXPANDS SOLAR POWER SYSTEM IN RENEWABLE ENERGY PUSH

[SINGAPORE] Local horticulture and urban park Gardens by the Bay has completed the installation of solar photovoltaic systems with renewable energy company EDP. The upgraded overall system features more than 1,700 solar panels with a total capacity of 1.08 megawatts-peak. The newly expanded system generates clean, renewable energy to power part of the park's operations, in a move towards a more sustainable and greener future.  The expansion and enhancement of solar infrastructure was carried out across Gardens by the Bay, including the Supertree Grove, and new sites such as the Canopy and the Bayfront Pavilion. EDP took into consideration inputs from Gardens by the Bay, leveraging specialized expertise in installation design to maximize energy generation across unique spaces while balancing safety, plant life, aesthetic integrity and operational logistics. These spaces include the Supertrees, which have irregular surfaces and shapes that make mounting solar panels more complex than on standard rooftops or flat land.    https://www.businesstimes.com.sg/esg/gardens-bay-expands-solar-power-system-renewable-energy-push (ICE SINGAPORE)
