Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính on Monday inaugurated National Data Centre No.1 and its national database system at Hoà Lạc Hi-Tech Park, Hà Nội, describing the facility as the “heart” of Việt Nam’s digital transformation and the “brain” of the nation’s prosperous development. Built by the Ministry of Public Security in less than two years, the 20-ha centre is one of the largest in Southeast Asia and the first national-level facility to receive top-tier international certifications for disaster resilience and security. The centre symbolises Việt Nam’s will, aspiration, and innovation, reflecting the spirit of turning challenges into opportunities. The PM stressed that the centre’s primary achievement is its direct benefits to citizens and businesses by reducing administrative procedures, supporting production, and enhancing well-being. He called for further development of Centres No.2 and No.3, recognising data as a strategic national resource vital for socio-economic growth, defence, competitiveness, and AI development. Chính emphasised that human resources remain the decisive factor. Officers must combine passion, creativity, and service-oriented mindset. He urged ministries and sectors to ensure funding, standards, and global cooperation.
