IMPORTS SURGE 15.6%, WHILE UKRAINE’S EXPORTS DROP 4.2% IN JANUARY–JUNE 2025

In the first six months of the year, Ukraine exported goods worth $20B, which is 4.2% less than in January-June of the previous year, while imports reached $38.6B (+15.6%), according to the State Statistics Service. As a result, the negative trade balance amounted to $18.51B (compared to $12.43B last year). During the first half of the year, Ukraine increased exports of electrical machines by 12.9% (to $1.25B), ferrous metals by 5% (to $1.54B), and fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin by 2.6% (to $3.16B). At the same time, due to the worse than expected harvest, the exports of grain crops declined by 24.2% compared to the first half of 2024 (to $3.99B).
