INDONESIAN MINISTER CALLS FOR CROSS-SECTOR SUPPORT IN CREATIVE ECONOMY
Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, has highlighted the importance of cross-sectoral collaboration to boost the development of the creative economy in regions. Harsya noted that a joint decree on guidelines for establishing regional creative economy offices has been issued. The joint decree, signed by Harsya and Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, has led to the establishment of creative economy offices in 19 provinces and 80 districts and cities. The Ministry of Creative Economy is also encouraging revisions to regional government law and has called for the issuance of a Minister of Home Affairs' circular to include the creative economy in the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD) and the Regional Government Information System (SIPD). According to the ministry's data, the number of workers in the creative economy sector rose from 14 million in 2013 to 26.47 million by 2024.
