JORDAN AND EGYPT SIGN NINE AGREEMENTS IN SEVERAL ECONOMIC FIELDS, INCLUDING ELEC

Jordan and Egypt signed nine agreements and memoranda of understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation across various sectors at the conclusion of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee meetings. The two sides emphasized the importance of enhancing joint efforts in the fields of energy, electrical interconnection, investment, industry, tourism, transportation, transit, and other areas of mutual interest. Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly reiterated the urgent need to end Israel’s ongoing war on the Gaza Strip and to ensure the unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid. They also called for rejecting the policy of starvation in Gaza and opposing provocative measures in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Prime Minister Madbouly highlighted the strong ties between His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, noting that their close relationship is reflected in the breadth of cooperation between the two governments and the deep bonds between the Jordanian and Egyptian peoples. “We are working together to remove all obstacles that may hinder the expansion of economic cooperation between our two countries in all fields,” Madbouly said, adding that cooperation in energy, gas supplies, and electrical interconnection serves as an exemplary model—one both sides are committed to further developing.
