T'WAY AIR SURPASSES 100,000 PASSENGERS ON ITS INCHEON-ROME ROUTE IN JUST ONE YEA
T'way Air celebrated the first anniversary of its long-haul European route, "Incheon-Rome, Italy." Launched on August 8th of last year, the Incheon-Rome route operated a total of 474 round-trip flights over the past year, carrying approximately 100,000 passengers. From May to July of this year, approximately 40,000 passengers used the route, more than doubling the number of passengers in July compared to March, demonstrating high demand during the peak summer season. The nationality of passengers was as follows: South Korea, Italy, Japan, China, and the United States. Gender distribution was evenly balanced. Among all passengers, those in their 20s and 30s accounted for the largest proportion. The airline also transported a total of 2,160 tons of import and export cargo over the past year. By utilizing the belly cargo space of large aircraft, shipments such as automobile parts and machinery were loaded into Unit Load Devices (ULD), ensuring stable cargo performance. The Incheon-Rome route departs Incheon International Airport at 12:35 AM and arrives at Rome Fiumicino Leonardo da Vinci Airport at 19:15 PM. The return flight departs Rome at 19:15 PM and lands in Incheon at 16:10 PM (Korean time) the following day. Flights operate daily during the summer season, and four times a week during the winter season — from October 26 to March 28 next year — on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. The route is operated by Airbus A330-200 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, deployed on different days of the week. Business Class offers fully reclining flat-bed seats, ensuring comfort on long-haul flights. In-flight meals are served twice each way to both Business and Economy Class passengers. A T'way Air official said, “The Incheon-Rome route is T'way Air's second long-haul European route following Zagreb, Croatia, and has increased accessibility to European travel through stable operation over the past year. We will continue to accompany our passengers on their precious journeys based on safe operation and differentiated service.” (ICE SEOUL)
