PHILIPPINE GDP GROWTH HITS LOWER END OF TARGET IN Q2 DESPITE GLOBAL CHALLENGES
PHILIPPINE economic growth picked up in the second quarter (Q2), the Philippine Statistics Authority reported on Thursday, hitting the lower end of the government's recently revised full-year target. Gross domestic product (GDP) expanded by 5.5 percent in April-June, up from 5.4 percent in the first three months of 2025. It was, however, markedly slower than the 6.5 percent recorded in the same period last year. It also fell below the 5.6-percent median in a Manila Times poll of economists but hit the 5.5- to 6.5-percent goal adopted in June. https://www.manilatimes.net/2025/08/08/business/top-business/philippine-gdp-growth-hits-lower-end-of-target-in-q2-despite-global-challenges/2164231 (ICE SINGAPORE)
