In the case of Santander Bank Polska, the number one topic is the preparations for the takeover by the Austrian Erste group. "Our ambition is to complete the transaction around the end of the year," emphasised CEO Michał Gajewski at Wednesday's press conference. At the beginning of May, Erste Group signed an agreement with Spain's Banco Santander to purchase a 49 per cent stake in Santander Bank Polska (50 per cent in Santander TFI) for a total of €7 billion. Erste also expects the acquisition to be finalised at the end of 2025. -"Until then, the whole effort will be to make it as smooth as possible. We are a universal bank that serves all customer segments, starting with investment banking, corporate, large corporate, SME and retail.
