REVENUE HIT SEEN FROM US-PH DEAL
THE Philippines could lose roughly P3 billion to P6 billion in forgone revenues from zero tariffs on selected products from the United States, a Cabinet official said on Tuesday. Under a trade deal reached by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and US President Donald Trump last week, the Philippines agreed to a zero-tariff regime on products including automobiles, wheat, pharmaceuticals and soybeans. “Our initial estimate is something like P3 to P6 billion in revenue loss. That depends if all those products are included,” Recto told reporters at the sidelines of a post-State of the Nation Address (SONA) briefing. https://www.manilatimes.net/2025/07/30/business/top-business/revenue-hit-seen-from-us-ph-deal/2158258 (ICE SINGAPORE)
