PRIVATE ENTERPRISES TO BE A DRIVING FORCE BEHIND VN'S BRANDS
Summary (200 words): Vietnamese private enterprises are increasingly making their mark on global markets through innovation, high-quality products, and strong brand narratives. Brands like VinFast, Vinamilk, Masan, Duy Tân, and TH True Milk have played a leading role in enhancing Vietnam’s national brand value, which reached US$507 billion in 2024 and ranked 32nd globally, according to Brand Finance. The number of firms awarded the “Việt Nam Value” title has grown to 190, contributing significantly to state revenue and employment. Vinamilk, for example, ranks among the top global dairy brands. Other notable names include TH Milk, Nafoods, and PlasmaMED. Despite their success, Vietnamese brands still face challenges such as weak intellectual property protection, limited support policies, and stiff international competition. Experts emphasize the need for stronger collaboration between the State, enterprises, and support institutions to enhance brand visibility and protection. The government is urged to create a favorable business environment, promote technological innovation, and encourage sustainable practices. It also aims to strengthen corporate governance, boost labor productivity, and support startups. Businesses are advised to build quality products aligned with global standards, digitize operations, and foster innovation-driven, people-centered management to remain competitive and trusted in international markets.
