Kazakhstan, EU boost agricultural trade by 11% in first five months of 2025Kazakhstan and the European Union increased agricultural trade by 11% year-on-year in January-May 2025, reaching $662.2 million, Agriculture Minister Aidarbek Saparov said.During a meeting with EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aleška Simkić, Saparov discussed expanding cooperation in agribusiness. The minister noted that the EU remains one of Kazakhstan’s key investment partners in the agricultural sector."In 2024, bilateral agricultural trade between Kazakhstan and the EU reached $1.3 billion, a 7% increase from the previous year. The growth trend continued this year, with trade rising to $662.2 million in the first five months of 2025," Saparov was quoted as saying.Saparov said Kazakhstan is ready to ensure stable grain supplies to the European market, with ongoing negotiations to use Estonian and Latvian Baltic ports as transit hubs.The Agriculture Ministry added that 20 Kazakh companies are currently authorized to export fish products to the EU, while beekeeping farms are exploring opportunities to supply honey to European markets.
