Kazakhstan to launch 190 industrial projects worth 1.6 trln tenge in 2025Kazakhstan plans to complete 190 industrial projects worth 1.6 trillion tenge this year, creating around 23,000 work places, Deputy Minister of Industry and Construction Olzhas Saparbekov said."This year we plan to put into commercial operation 190 industrial projects totaling 1.6 trillion tenge in value, creating about 23,000 permanent jobs. Among these, 28 projects will be implemented in the mining and metallurgical sector, with investment of 444 billion tenge and 6,500 new jobs," Saparbekov said at a Tuesday meeting of the government.The projects include new industrial facilities that will produce longitudinal welded pipes and aluminum radiators in the Karaganda region, aluminum profiles in the Turkistan region, aluminum products in the Akmola region, a ferroalloy plant in the Pavlodar region, and a cathode copper plant in the Zhambyl region, according to Saparbekov.The mining and metallurgy industry accounts for 8% of Kazakhstan’s GDP, producing over 14 trillion tenge in output annually and employing about 224,000 people."In 2024, investments in this industry exceeded 1.7 trillion tenge. Labor productivity rose 9.4% year-on-year, reaching $102,000 per worker," he added. (ICE ALMATY)
