HÀ NỘI — Party General Secretary Tô Lâm has urged the modernisation of the People’s Procuracy, emphasising digital transformation, science and technology application, and the creation of an “e-Procuracy” to enhance transparency, efficiency, and justice. Speaking at the 65th anniversary of the People's Procuracy and the Hero of Labour award ceremony on July 21, he reaffirmed the sector’s vital role in protecting justice, human rights, national interests, and combating crime and corruption. He called for strengthening international cooperation, improving judicial supervision, and ensuring accurate, humane, and fair prosecution. Tô Lâm stressed the need to build a contingent of disciplined, ethical, and competent prosecutors and to innovate prosecutorial practices that balance legal rigor with compassion. All activities must align with Vietnam’s Đổi mới (Renewal) strategy and the socialist rule-of-law State, ensuring judicial power is exercised justly and effectively to bolster public trust and social order. — VNS (ICE HO CHI MINH CITY)
