EU AND INDONESIA ANNOUNCE POLITICAL AGREEMENT TO FINALIZE CEPA
During President Prabowo Subianto’s visit to Brussels on Sunday (13 July), he and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reached a political agreement to finalize CEPA by September 2025. Von der Leyen emphasized the deal will unlock new market access and create opportunities in sectors like agriculture and automotive, noting “there’s a lot of untouched potential” in the EU–Indonesia trade relationship. Prabowo highlighted CEPA as a tool for fairness and sustainable growth, while Coordinating Minister Airlangga Hartarto confirmed that once signed in Q3 2025, Indonesian exports will enjoy zero-percent tariffs. The agreement is seen as a strategic move to deepen ties amid global instability.Source: https://www.thejakartapost.com/world/2025/07/14/eu-and-indonesia-announce-political-agreement-on-trade-deal.html (ICE GIACARTA)
