INDONESIA EYES SOCIAL MEDIA FOR TAX REVENUE AFTER MARKETPLACES

Indonesia’s Finance Ministry has enacted Regulation No. 37/2025, which became effective on Monday (14 July), requiring e-commerce platforms like Tokopedia, Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Lazada to collect and remit a 0.5% income tax (PPh 22) from small- and medium-sized sellers earning IDR 500 million–4.8 billion annually.
