Cargo transshipment via Kazakh seaports grew by 25% to 4.5 mln tonnes in 6MThe volume of cargo transshipment through Kazakhstan's seaports in the first six months of 2025 increased by 25% compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 4.5 million tonnes, the press service of the republic's Ministry of Transport reported.The data was announced at a meeting in the Ministry of Transport, where the current situation and development plans for the maritime industry were discussed.The meeting noted positive dynamics in the production indicators of the port of Aktau, as well as in freight traffic along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR), including container shipments, for the first six months of 2025.Earlier, Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport planned to transship about 8 million tonnes of cargo through the seaports of Aktau and Kuryk in 2024, including 4.2 million tonnes via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR).The Trans-Caspian International Transport Route, also known as the Middle Corridor, is an international transport corridor running through China, Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and further to Turkey and European countries.
