INDONESIA-EU CEPA COULD BOOST EXPORTS BY 50%

The Indonesian government anticipates that the Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (I-EU CEPA) will increase exports by up to 50%, boosting domestic industrial performance and employment. Head of the Presidential Communication Office, Hasan Nasbi, emphasized that most Indonesian products will enter the EU market tariff-free, making it easier for local industries to scale production and reach global markets. The deal is also expected to encourage investment, with EU investment in Indonesia already reaching US$24 billion and projected to grow further, contributing to job creation and economic expansion. Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen formally concluded the I-EU CEPA negotiations on July 13, 2025, after a decade of discussions. Announced in Brussels, the agreement marks a milestone in Indonesia-EU relations, representing a comprehensive free trade arrangement. President Prabowo praised the achievement as a model of cooperation amid global instability, affirming that both parties have reached consensus on all aspects of the pact. The agreement is set to enhance trade, investment, and bilateral ties between Indonesia and the EU.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/366861/indonesia-eu-cepa-could-boost-exports-by-50-pco?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
