Occidental subsidiary Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has contracted the VALARIS DS-16 drillship for a 940-day program for work in the US Gulf of Mexico. This contract extension begins in June 2026. The company also secured a new 914-day contract with Occidental for VALARIS DS-18, also in the US Gulf. This is set to begin during fourth-quarter 2026. The two contract wins, which were announced by Valaris on July 6, have an estimated value of about $760 million. (ICE HOUSTON)
