LIBYA RESTARTS KEY OIL PIPELINE AFTER REPAIRS
The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced the resumption of operations on the key crude oil pipeline connecting Hamada oilfield to Zawiya refinery, following successful maintenance work.The pipeline had been temporarily shut down after a leak was discovered. According to a statement issued on Saturday, technical teams from the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) carried out the repairs over the past two days.The NOC said operations resumed smoothly, meeting high standards of safety and efficiency, and allowing crude flow to return to normal.Technical teams are continuing environmental clean-up efforts at the site of the spill under direct supervision from NOC specialists. The first stage—removing spilled oil—has been completed, with further efforts underway in coordination with relevant departments.The Hamada–Zawiya pipeline is a vital part of Libya’s oil infrastructure. Stretching 387km with an 18-inch diameter, it plays a strategic role in ensuring the uninterrupted transport of crude oil to key refineries and processing centres. (ICE TRIPOLI)
