The USD11bn contract for the delivery of 40 Airbus A220s to Polish Airlines LOT, with an option to increase the order to 84 aircraft, is expected to benefit the airlines and also the Polish economy. Some of the components for this type of aircraft are already manufactured in Poland. Aircraft seats come from Świebodzin, engine parts from Rzeszów and electrical harnesses from Warsaw. According to Airbus, the value of its orders in Poland will increase over the next five years from USD500m to USD700m a year, and the employment in Airbus Poland company will increase from 800 to 1500 people.
