GOV’T UNVEILS STRATEGIC ROADMAP TO REVITALIZE INDONESIA’S ESSENTIAL OIL INDUSTRY
To accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s essential oil industry, the Industry Ministry has developed a strategic road map addressing key sector challenges, including raw material standardization, limited product diversification, and global market access. Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Industry, Faisol Riza, highlighted initiatives such as creating a national essential oil database, promoting geographical indications, and strengthening flavor and fragrance centers in West Sumatra and Bali. Regional fragrance competitions were also introduced to boost local engagement and innovation. Riza emphasized the need for cross-sector collaboration to build a sustainable aroma ecosystem, integrating upstream farmer support and distiller regeneration with downstream technological and design innovation. He called for collective branding and strong trade diplomacy to elevate Indonesian aroma products globally, envisioning an inclusive industry rooted in local wisdom and scientific progress. The ministry’s Aromatika Indofest 2025 served as a key platform to unite stakeholders and reinforce this vision.Source: https://en.antaranews.com/news/366001/ministry-creates-road-map-to-boost-essential-oil-industry?utm_source=antaranews&utm_medium=mobile&utm_campaign=latest_category (ICE GIACARTA)
